- 500 gSweet potatoes(about 2 medium)
- 15 mlOlive oil
- 1 tspSmoked paprika
- 0.5 tspGarlic powder
- 0.25 tspBlack pepper
- 1 PinchSalt(to taste)
Instructions
Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into uniform sticks, about 0.5 inches thick. Try to keep them as even as possible for consistent cooking.
Place the sweet potato sticks in a large bowl. Add the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss well until all the fries are evenly coated with the oil and spices.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Arrange the seasoned sweet potato fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; you may need to cook them in batches. Overcrowding will prevent them from getting crispy.
Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispiness. Cook until golden brown and tender on the inside, with a crispy exterior.
Once cooked, remove the sweet potato fries from the air fryer and lightly season with salt to taste. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
💡 Tipp
Varianten
- Try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
- Experiment with other spices like chili powder, onion powder, or rosemary.
- A sprinkle of brown sugar or maple syrup before air frying can give them a delicious sweet and savory flavor.
Ersatz & Alternativen
- If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
Aufbewahrung
Leftover sweet potato fries can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness.
Einfrieren
Cooked sweet potato fries do not freeze well as they tend to become mushy upon thawing and reheating. It's best to enjoy them fresh.
