- 400 gCanned chickpeas(drained and rinsed)
- 1 tbspOlive oil
- 1 tspSmoked paprika
- 0.5 tspGround cumin
- 0.25 tspGarlic powder
- 1 Pinch(es)Salt(to taste)
- 1 Pinch(es)Black pepper(to taste)
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Thoroughly drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Pat them very dry with a paper towel. This step is crucial for achieving maximum crispiness.
In a medium bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with olive oil, smoked paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the chickpeas are evenly coated with the spices.
Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket, as this can lead to steaming instead of crisping. You may need to cook them in batches.
Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them towards the end of the cooking time to prevent burning.
Carefully remove the crispy chickpeas from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. They will become even crispier as they cool.
Serve immediately as a snack, salad topping, or a side dish. Enjoy your flavorful and crunchy treat!
