- 1 lbCremini mushrooms(or button mushrooms)
- 0.5 cupAll-purpose flour
- 2 largeEggs
- 2 tbspMilk
- 1 cupPanko breadcrumbs
- 1 tspGarlic powder
- 0.5 tspSmoked paprika
- 1 tspSalt(to taste)
- 0.5 tspBlack pepper(to taste)
- 2 tbspOlive oil spray(or cooking spray)
- 0.25 cupFresh parsley(chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
Clean the mushrooms thoroughly with a damp cloth or paper towel. Do not wash them under running water, as they will absorb too much liquid. Trim the ends of the stems if necessary.
Prepare three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together until well combined. In the third bowl, mix the Panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Dredge each mushroom first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, roll it in the seasoned Panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure the crumbs adhere well.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
Arrange the breaded mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd it. You may need to cook them in batches. Lightly spray the tops of the mushrooms with olive oil spray.
Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and mushroom size.
Once cooked, remove the mushrooms from the air fryer and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, marinara, or garlic aioli.
