- 250 gHalloumi cheese
- 2 tbspOlive oil
- 1 tbspFresh lemon juice
- 1 tbspFresh parsley(finely chopped)
- 1 tbspFresh mint(finely chopped)
- 1 cloveGarlic(minced)
- 0.5 tspDried oregano
- 1 pinchSalt(to taste)
- 1 pinchBlack pepper(freshly ground, to taste)
Instructions
Pat the halloumi cheese dry with paper towels. Cut the halloumi into 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) thick slices, then into bite-sized pieces or sticks.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, chopped parsley, chopped mint, minced garlic, and dried oregano. Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.
Add the halloumi pieces to the marinade, tossing gently to ensure all sides are coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator for more flavor.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. If your air fryer requires it, lightly grease the basket or spray with a non-stick spray.
Arrange the marinated halloumi in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd it. You may need to cook it in batches.
Air fry for 8-12 minutes, flipping the halloumi halfway through, until it's golden brown and crispy on the outside. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model.
Remove the crispy halloumi from the air fryer and serve immediately. Enjoy it as a snack, appetizer, or a delicious side dish!
💡 Tipp
Varianten
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a spicy kick.
- Experiment with different fresh herbs like dill or chives.
- Serve with a side of tzatziki or a fresh green salad.
Ersatz & Alternativen
- If you don't have an air fryer, you can pan-fry the halloumi in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown on both sides.
Aufbewahrung
Leftover halloumi can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispness.
Einfrieren
Freezing cooked halloumi is not recommended as it can alter the texture significantly.
