- 500 gpotatoes(floury type, e.g., Russet or Yukon Gold)
- 50 gbutterMilch
- 50 mlmilk
- 1 Prise(n)nutmeg(to taste)
- 1 Prise(n)salt(to taste)
- 1 Prise(n)black pepper(to taste)
- 75 gall-purpose flour
- 2 largeeggs
- 100 gbreadcrumbs
- 1 tbspvegetable oil(for air frying)
Instructions
Peel the potatoes, cut them into equally sized pieces, and boil them in salted water until very tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain well.
While the potatoes are still hot, mash them thoroughly with a potato masher or fork. Add the butter, milk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Let the mixture cool completely.
Once the potato mixture is cool, form it into small croquettes (about 1.5-2 inches long and 0.5-0.75 inches thick). You can also make them round if you prefer.
Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
Dredge each croquette first in flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it in the beaten egg, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure they stick well.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly brush or spray the croquettes with vegetable oil.
Place the croquettes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd it. You may need to cook them in batches.
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately.
