- 2.25 tspActive dry yeast
- 1 tspGranulated sugar
- 2.5 cupsAll-purpose flour(plus more for dusting)
- 1 tspSalt
For the dough
- 2 tbspOlive oil
For the topping
- 3 tbspOlive oil
- 3 clovesGarlic(minced)
- 1 tbspFresh rosemary(chopped)
- 0.5 tspFlaky sea salt(or to taste)
- 1 pinchBlack pepper(freshly ground, to taste)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix with a spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside. If using a baking sheet, lightly grease it.
Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Gently stretch or roll the dough into a roughly 12-inch round or rectangular shape, depending on your baking surface.
Carefully transfer the dough to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining 3 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary. Brush this mixture evenly over the surface of the pizza dough.
Sprinkle the pizza with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
