- 1000 gfresh peaches(about 6-8 medium peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced)
- 50 ggranulated sugar
- 15 gcornstarch
- 5 mlvanilla extract
- 1 Prise(n)ground cinnamon(to taste)
- 1 Prise(n)salt(for peaches)
Crumble Topping
- 150 gall-purpose flour
- 100 grolled oats
- 100 glight brown sugar
- 1 Prise(n)salt(for crumble)
- 115 gunsalted butter(cold, cut into cubes)Milch
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a 23 cm (9-inch) pie dish or an equivalent baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish.
To make the crumble topping, in a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, light brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingertips, a pastry blender, or a fork to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized pieces of butter remaining. Do not overmix.
Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly and tender when pierced with a fork. If the topping browns too quickly, you can loosely cover it with foil for the last 10-15 minutes of baking.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
💡 Tipp
Varianten
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the peach filling for extra spice.
- Mix in 30g (2 tablespoons) chopped pecans or walnuts into the crumble topping for added crunch.
- Replace half of the peaches with berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries) for a mixed fruit crumble.
Ersatz & Alternativen
- If you don't have cornstarch, you can use all-purpose flour as a thickener, using 30g (2 tablespoons) for the same amount of peaches.
- For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend and certified gluten-free oats in the crumble topping.
Aufbewahrung
Store leftover peach crumble covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
Einfrieren
You can freeze baked peach crumble. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat in a preheated oven at 160°C (325°F) until warmed through.
