Kaiserschmarrn
- 2 largeEggs
- 250 mlMilk
- 125 gAll-purpose flour
- 2 tbspGranulated sugar
- 1 tspVanilla sugar
- 1 pinchSalt
- 1 tbspButterMilch
Optional
- 2 tbspRaisins
For serving
- 1 tbspPowdered sugar
- 200 gApplesauce
Instructions
Separate the eggs. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks with milk, flour, granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt until smooth. If using, stir in the raisins.
In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into the batter until just combined. Be gentle to keep the mixture airy.
Grease an oven-safe dish (approximately 8-inch diameter) that fits into your air fryer with butter. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Place the dish with the batter into the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the Kaiserschmarrn is golden brown and puffed up. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model.
Remove the dish from the air fryer. Using two forks, tear the Kaiserschmarrn into bite-sized pieces. You can return the torn pieces to the air fryer for another 2-3 minutes at 375°F (190°C) for extra crispiness, if desired.
Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve immediately with warm applesauce.
