- 500 gGround beef
- 1 mediumOnion(finely chopped)
- 2 clovesGarlic(minced)
- 50 gBreadcrumbs
- 60 mlMilk
- 1 largeEgg
- 1 teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
- 0.5 teaspoonDried thyme
- 1 PinchSalt(to taste)
- 1 PinchBlack pepper(freshly ground, to taste)
For the glaze
- 60 mlKetchup
- 1 tablespoonBrown sugar
- 1 teaspoonDijon mustard
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined, but be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf. Ensure it fits comfortably into your air fryer basket without touching the sides.
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, let it run for 3-5 minutes at the set temperature.
Carefully place the meatloaf into the air fryer basket. You might want to line the basket with parchment paper designed for air fryers for easier cleanup, or use a small rack if your air fryer has one.
Cook for 20 minutes. While it's cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.
After 20 minutes, open the air fryer and brush the top and sides of the meatloaf generously with the prepared glaze.
Continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C) when measured with a meat thermometer, and the glaze is caramelized and slightly crispy.
Once cooked, carefully remove the meatloaf from the air fryer. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a more tender and flavorful meatloaf.
💡 Tipp
Varianten
- Add finely diced bell peppers or mushrooms to the meatloaf mixture for extra vegetables and flavor.
- Experiment with different glazes: try a BBQ sauce glaze, a mushroom gravy, or a simple onion soup mix glaze.
Ersatz & Alternativen
- Ground turkey or a mix of ground beef and pork can be used instead of just ground beef.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
Aufbewahrung

Einfrieren
Cooked meatloaf can be frozen for up to 3 months. Wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil, or store in a freezer-safe container. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat.
