For the Frosting
- 200 gunsalted butterMilch
- 300 gpowdered sugar
- 50 gunsweetened cocoa powder
- 60 mlstout beer

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 20 cm (8-inch) round cake pans, or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the stout beer, vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before inverting them onto a wire rack to cool completely.
While the cakes cool, prepare the frosting: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, beating until smooth. Add the stout beer and vanilla extract, beating until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Once the cakes are completely cool, assemble the cake. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of frosting over the top. Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
Decorate as desired, perhaps with some chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of additional cocoa powder. Serve and enjoy!
