- 1 pinch(es)salt(to taste)
- 1 pinch(es)black pepper(to taste)
For Baking
- 1 tablespoonolive oil
Instructions
Warm the milk slightly (it should be lukewarm, not hot). Add the sugar and active dry yeast, stir, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. This activates the yeast.
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and the melted butter. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic. You can use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this.
Cover the dough bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Wash the wild garlic thoroughly, pat it dry, and finely chop it. In a bowl, combine the chopped wild garlic, cream cheese, and grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, approximately 16x20 inches (40x50 cm).
Spread the wild garlic and cheese filling evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Cut the dough into approximately 16-20 squares (about 4x4 inches or 10x10 cm each). Stack 3-4 squares on top of each other and place them upright into a greased loaf pan or round baking dish (about 9-10 inches or 23-25 cm in diameter). Repeat with the remaining dough squares until the pan is full.
Cover the pan with a kitchen towel again and let the bread rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top of the pull-apart bread with a little olive oil.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. If the top browns too quickly, you can loosely cover it with aluminum foil.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly in the pan before serving. Pull apart the delicious cheesy wild garlic pieces and enjoy!
