- 400 gcod fillet(or other firm white fish)
- 50 gall-purpose flour
- 1 largeegg
- 1 tbspmilk
- 100 gpanko breadcrumbs
- 0.5 tsppaprika powder
- 0.25 tspgarlic powder
- 1 pinchsalt(to taste)
- 1 pinchblack pepper(to taste)
- 2 tbspolive oil(or cooking spray)
Instructions
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Cut the fish into even stick shapes, about 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long.
Prepare three shallow dishes. In the first, place the flour. In the second, whisk the egg with milk, salt, and pepper. In the third, combine the panko breadcrumbs with paprika powder and garlic powder.
Dredge each fish stick first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, roll it in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure the crumbs adhere well.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil or cooking spray. Arrange the breaded fish sticks in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don't overlap. You may need to cook them in batches.
Air fry for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish sticks are golden brown and crispy, and the fish is cooked through and flaky. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the fish sticks.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce or ketchup.
